In my opinion, 2006 has been a remarkably good year for jazz on disc, and I’ve found it all but impossible to do right by all the gifted artists I’ve heard. My monthly lists for the year, as published in All About Jazz-New York, can be found here: adlermusic.com/BC75486761/index.html. But there are more still that deserve mention.

My Top Ten list is limited to recordings that had the most visceral impact. In addition, I was struck by this year’s large number of memorable solo and duo albums, so I listed them for good measure. I have posted additional year-in-review comments on my blog at (lerterland.blogspot.com/2006/11/year-in-review_28.html), so please check in.
